Punjab Lok Bhavan today organised a Chhabeel outside the Lok Bhavan Complex in reverence to Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, whose life and teachings continue to inspire humanity with the values of compassion, selfless service, equality and universal brotherhood.
The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, participated in the Chhabeel and performed sewa by personally serving sweetened milk and Chana Prasad to passers-by.
The Governor joined officers and staff of Lok Bhavan in paying homage to Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji and spreading the message of communal harmony and service to mankind.
On the occasion, Shri Kataria said that Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s teachings continue to guide society towards peace, compassion, brotherhood and mutual respect. He observed that the Guru Ji’s life and sacrifice remain a source of inspiration for people across generations and communities.
The Chhabeel witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and employees of Punjab Lok Bhavan, who collectively contributed to the successful organisation of the event. Their efforts reflected the spirit of selfless service and dedication that lies at the heart of the Lok Bhavan’s ethos.
Organising a Chhabeel during the summer season is a cherished tradition that symbolises compassion, humility and service to humanity—values that are deeply embedded in Sikh tradition. Members of the public warmly appreciated the initiative and participated in large numbers in the event.
