Kewal Dhillon Meets PM Modi, Discusses Punjab Development, Farmers’ Issues and Law & Order

New Delhi, July 27, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab President Kewal Singh Dhillon on Monday held a detailed meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, during which discussions were held on Punjab’s development, economic challenges, farmers’ concerns, youth issues, industrial growth and the state’s law and order situation.

According to a statement issued after the meeting, Dhillon apprised the Prime Minister of various issues concerning Punjab, including the condition of the state’s economy, industrial sector, problems faced by farmers and labourers, employment challenges for youth, gangsterism and other governance-related concerns.

Dhillon said the meeting was held in a “positive and constructive atmosphere” and that the Prime Minister listened to all issues with seriousness. He added that Modi remains closely connected with Punjab and recalled his association with the state during his days as a BJP worker.

During the meeting, Dhillon also raised issues related to improving the welfare of farmers and labourers, promoting industrial expansion, attracting investments and creating employment opportunities for the youth, the statement said.

Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, Dhillon alleged that the state had suffered due to “directionless policies” and claimed that farmers, labourers and industries were facing difficulties. He also criticised the government over law and order issues and employment concerns.

Dhillon said Punjab requires a “double-engine government” under BJP leadership to accelerate development and bring investment and growth to the state. He cited the development model followed under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership in Gujarat and at the national level as an example.

He further stated that the BJP remains committed to working for Punjab’s progress and providing a new direction for the state’s future.
