National 2W Racing: Sarthak Chavan Leads Podium Sweep, Jennifer and Kabilesh Shine in Chennai

Nineteen-year-old Pune rider Sarthak Chavan overcame an overnight journey from Spain, jet lag and a last-row start to produce a stunning victory in the premier Super Sport 301-400cc Open race in the second round of the Indian National Racing Challenge 2W – 2026 at the Madras International Circuit on Saturday.

Chavan reached Sriperumbudur at 6 a.m. after travelling overnight from Spain and had missed Friday’s practice and qualifying sessions. Starting from the last row, he nevertheless found his rhythm at the crucial moment to win the six-lap race in 11:03.311.

Chavan acknowledged that race leader Rahil Pillarisetty’s retirement at the end of the penultimate lap contributed to his victory.

The result also gave Petronas TVS Racing a podium sweep, with Chennai teenager Rakshith Dave finishing second in 11:03.506 and Bengaluru’s Chiranth Vishwanath third in 11:06.187. Vishwanath, who also started last, had missed Friday’s sessions after suffering food poisoning.

Another standout performance came from 16-year-old Kabilesh Rajini Krishnan of RACR Castrol Power1. The son of former multiple National champion Rajini Krishnan dominated the Super Stock 301-400cc Open race, winning in 11:38.273.

Former National women’s champion Ann Jennifer AS of Motul Sparks Racing also produced a remarkable comeback. Starting last in the Super Stock 165cc Intermediate race after failing to set a qualifying time following a crash, she won in 12:46.048.

Thiruvallur’s Mohamed Mikail claimed the Pro-Stock 200cc Open in a close finish, while Anandhu KK benefited after race leader Kavicholairasan crashed in the Stock 301-400cc Novice race. Yashwant Varma led a Motul Sparks Racing 1-2 in the Stock 165cc Novice class.

Hyderabad’s Rajender Beedani secured his second victory in three outings in the Expert Apache RR 310 class, narrowly beating Bengaluru’s AS James.

Poojita Anil Kumar of Bengaluru also registered her second win in as many races in the Women’s Apache RTR 200 class, finishing nearly 30 seconds ahead of Hyderabad’s Hannah Akkineni Joshitha.

Mancherial’s Pothu Vignesh won the Rookie Apache RTR 200 class, with Bengaluru’s Dev Agastya finishing second.
