Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the discussions at the 18th BRICS Summit had strengthened the belief that the grouping has evolved beyond a forum for dialogue into an “ecosystem of solutions”, while calling for the summit’s outcomes to be translated into time-bound action and tangible impact.
Addressing the concluding session on “Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability” at Bharat Mandapam, Modi said the New Delhi Declaration adopted at the summit should provide clear direction for the grouping’s shared vision and future cooperation.
“Our discussions over the past two days have further strengthened our belief that BRICS is not merely a grouping of nations, but an ecosystem of solutions,” Modi said.
He stressed that the outcomes should move beyond documentation and deliver results on the ground.
“We must translate all outcomes into time-bound actions and last-mile impact. We will work together to ensure that our framework moves beyond mere documentation and creates an impact in real life,” the Prime Minister said.
Modi thanked BRICS leaders for their active participation and contributions, saying their ideas and suggestions had added greater depth and breadth to cooperation within the grouping. He said the participation of leaders from member and partner countries, outreach invitees and international organisations reflected the growing relevance, openness and inclusiveness of BRICS.
As BRICS enters its third decade, Modi said the world expects concrete results rather than only ideas and commitments. He expressed confidence that the grouping would meet those expectations through collective efforts and extended his best wishes to China, which will host the next BRICS summit.
India, which holds the BRICS chair in 2026, hosted the two-day summit in New Delhi, bringing together leaders of member and partner countries, outreach invitees and heads of international organisations.
The BRICS members are Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. Partner countries include Belarus, Cuba, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
Earlier on Sunday, Modi and other leaders posed for a family photograph at Bharat Mandapam. The visiting leaders had also attended a gala dinner hosted by Modi on Saturday evening.
The BRICS leaders unanimously adopted the New Delhi Declaration on the first day of the summit.
