Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday constituted a nine-member Manifesto Committee to prepare the party’s election manifesto for the 2027 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections.
Senior party leader S Balwinder Singh Bhundar has been appointed Chairman of the committee, while Dr Daljit Singh Cheema will serve as Member Secretary.
The other members of the committee are S Gulzar Singh Ranike, S Heera Singh Gabhria, S Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, S Bikram Singh Majithia, S Sikandar Singh Maluka, S Sohan Singh Thandal and S Harcharan Singh Bains.
Presidents of the party’s various wings, including Youth, Women, Trade and Industry, Legal, SOI, Employees, Ex-Servicemen and Minorities, will participate as Special Invitees.
The committee will travel across Punjab and hold extensive interactions with farmers, workers, traders, industrialists, youth, women, employees and other sections of society to understand their aspirations, concerns and priorities.
The views and suggestions gathered during these consultations will form an important basis for drafting the SAD’s 2027 election manifesto, with the party stating that the document will seek to reflect the voice and aspirations of the people of Punjab.
