Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor on Monday gave fans a glimpse into her family’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, sharing pictures of husband Saif Ali Khan making an eco-friendly Lord Ganesha idol with clay at their home.
In one of the pictures, Saif is seen dressed in a white kurta-pyjama and seated on the floor, carefully shaping the clay idol with his hands.
Kareena also shared a picture of the completed idol placed on a wooden surface. She revealed that the idol was made by the couple’s younger son, Jehangir Ali Khan, fondly known as Jeh.
“Made by my Jeh Baba. Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Ganesh Chaturthi!” Kareena wrote while sharing the picture.
Kareena and Saif, who married in 2012, have often celebrated festivals and traditions from both sides of their families with their sons, Taimur and Jeh. Kareena comes from the Punjabi Kapoor family, while Saif belongs to the Muslim Pataudi family.
The couple have previously spoken about celebrating festivals across faiths at home. Kareena has said that Christmas and Diwali are celebrated with equal enthusiasm, while Eid is also marked with family gatherings and traditional food such as biryani.
Their celebrations have frequently reflected a blend of traditions, from Christmas lunches and Diwali festivities to Eid get-togethers.
On the professional front, Kareena is gearing up for Daayra, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is scheduled to release on September 18.
