DSGMC Chief Marks 350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji at Patna Sahib

The President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), S. Harmeet Singh Kalka, announced that Takht Sri Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib, in collaboration with DSGMC, has organized a ‘Jagriri March’ to commemorate the 350th Martyrdom day that falls in November month.

S. Kalka joined union minister S. Hardeep Singh Puri, President Gurdwara Committee of Patna Sahib S. Jagjot Singh Sohi, deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sh. Samrat Chaudhary and other leaders fron Patna and outside states to flag off the Jagriti March. Nihang Samparday Budha Dal head Baba Balbir Singh was also present.

The march commenced from Gurdwara Guru Ka Bagh, Patna Sahib, paying homage to the supreme sacrifice of the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and the unparalleled martyrdom of Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji.

S. Kalka called upon all the Sikhs living in the world to recite sehaj paths of Shri Guru Granth Sahib and bhog of the path will be organised simultaneously on November 25 on the martyrdom day. He also informed that DSGMC will organise a three day commemorative event ay Lal Qila, New Delhi to mark the event. He adds that the unparalel sacrifice by Ninth Guru led to the foundation of India as we see it today.

On this solemn occasion, a large gathering of devotees, along with the members of DSGMC, participated with deep reverence. S. Kalka emphasized that this Jagriti March is not merely a religious event, but a profound initiative to carry forward the glorious Sikh heritage and tbe tradition of self sacrifice for other persons and religions to the younger generations.

He further stated that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s supreme sacrifice was for the protection of humanity, righteousness, and fundamental human rights, thereby establishing a timeless example for the entire world.

Through the Jagriti March which will conclude at Shri Anandpur Sahib after atleast six to seven weeks passing through nine different states including – Bihar, Chhatisgarh, Odisha, and finally Punjab. The sangat will be spiritually enriched through soulful Gurbani Kirtan, enlightening discourses, and inspiring historical messages, reconnecting them with the sacred teachings and the immortal tradition of martyrdom.

S. Kalka underlined that this Jagriti March is a living reminder of Sikh history. It not only instills pride in our glorious heritage but also inspires future generations to remain connected with this divine legacy. He adds that the narch will be given a rousing welcome when it will arrive in national capital – New Delhi.
