BJP chief Nitin Nabin to begin 2-day J&K visit from today for party meetings, youth outreach

Jammu, July 6, 2026

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin will begin his maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Monday after becoming the party chief.

The BJP sources said Nitin Nabin will hold organisational meetings in Jammu, interact with youth, pay obeisance at Raghunath Temple and the Shri Vaishno Devi Shrine during his visit.

The party has planned to give Nitin Nabin a grand welcome at several locations after his arrival, including outside Jammu Airport, G.B. Pant Hospital, Women’s College near Asia Hotel and Dogra Chowk, before he addresses a workers’ conference at Grand in Mishriwala.

Later in the day, he will chair a meeting of party office-bearers at the BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir headquarters in Trikuta Nagar to review organisational affairs and discuss the party’s strategy for the union territory.

In the evening, he is scheduled to offer prayers at the historic Raghunath Temple.

On Tuesday, Nabin will visit the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra town to pay obeisance before returning to Jammu, where he will pay floral tributes to BJP stalwart Prem Nath Dogra at his statue in Dogra Chowk.

The second day’s programme also includes separate meetings with BJP Members of Parliament, legislators and former elected representatives. He will also participate in a Yuva Samvad at the Convention Centre, where he is expected to interact with young party workers and outline the party’s vision and organisational roadmap.

A Bharatiya Janata Party statement said that he will hold various crucial organisational meetings with senior party leaders, office-bearers, and public representatives to strengthen the party’s grassroots footprint across the region.

The visit by the national president to J&K assumes special significance as there are reports about the BJP embarking on a massive organisational shakeup that could coincide with the reported reshuffle of the Union Cabinet before July 20, when the Monsoon session of Parliament begins.

While reports suggest some senior ministers may be assigned organisational roles, reports also say new faces might be inducted into the Union Cabinet.(Agency)
