Carrying forward a nearly five-decade-old legacy of loyalty, struggle and service towards the Congress organisation, Angad Dutta has dedicated his victory in the Youth Congress Organisational Elections 2026 to his late father, Sh. Anil Dutta.
Angad Dutta was once again elected as President, Youth Congress Jalandhar Urban, securing a massive mandate of 4,845 votes.
After the victory, an emotional Angad Dutta said that this achievement belongs to his father, whose teachings, struggle and commitment towards the Congress Party continue to inspire him every day.
“This victory is dedicated to my father Late Sh. Anil Dutta ji. Whatever I am today is because of his blessings, values and the path of public service he showed me. His dream was always to strengthen the Congress organisation and empower young leaders. I will continue his mission with the same honesty and dedication,” said Angad Dutta.
Late Sh. Anil Dutta was a respected Congress leader from Jalandhar who devoted more than three decades of his life to the organisation. Starting his journey in 1976 as Block Youth Congress President, he later served as District Youth Congress President Jalandhar for more than 10 years, General Secretary Punjab Youth Congress and Organising Secretary Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC).
During Captain Amarinder Singh’s government, Sh. Anil Dutta served as Vice-Chairman of a Government Corporation and Managing Director of Jalandhar Central Cooperative Bank, working for public welfare and helping thousands of families.
Following his father’s footsteps, Angad Dutta entered Youth Congress politics at a young age and built his journey through organisational work and grassroots movements.

During his political journey, Angad Dutta has led several youth movements, public welfare campaigns, COVID relief initiatives, blood donation drives and protests on issues affecting common people.
Angad Dutta thanked Youth Congress workers and supporters for their faith and said this mandate has increased his responsibility.
“Positions may change, but my commitment towards Congress workers and the people of Jalandhar will always remain the same. I will keep working to fulfil my father’s dream of serving society and strengthening the Congress Party,” he added.
The victory marks not only a political achievement but also the continuation of the legacy of Late Sh. Anil Dutta’s dedication, loyalty and service.
