Filmmaker Anees Bazmee has lauded veteran actor Anil Kapoor for maintaining the same enthusiasm and dedication to filmmaking even after spending nearly four decades in the film industry.
Marking nine years of the release of the 2017 comedy Mubarakan, Bazmee shared a behind-the-scenes video from the film’s sets on social media, featuring Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and members of the production team. Along with the nostalgic clip, the director wrote, “Sharing some cherished memories from the sets of MUBARAKAN. #9yearsofmubarakan.”
In the video, Bazmee praised Anil Kapoor’s unwavering commitment to his craft, saying that despite working in the industry for 35 to 40 years, the actor continues to approach every shoot with the energy and excitement of someone on their very first day.
Describing Kapoor as more than just an accomplished performer, Bazmee called him “a great actor, a great human being and a great friend.”
Responding in the video, Anil Kapoor expressed gratitude for his enduring career, saying he feels blessed to continue doing what he loves. He added that acting has given him opportunities to travel, meet people and remain connected with his passion, leaving him with little else to wish for professionally.
Bazmee also reflected on the challenges of making comedy films, noting that while humour may appear effortless on screen, it demands thoughtful writing and meticulous execution behind the scenes.
Released in 2017, Mubarakan starred Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor in a double role, Ileana D’Cruz, Athiya Shetty and Neha Sharma. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the family entertainer revolved around a series of comic misunderstandings involving twin brothers and their weddings, with Anil Kapoor earning praise for his portrayal of Kartar Singh.
