Residents of Chanalon and adjoining areas in the Kharar Assembly constituency received a healthcare boost on Tuesday with the inauguration of a new Aam Aadmi Clinic at the Chanalon Focal Point by Kharar MLA Anmol Gagan Mann.
The facility is expected to cater to thousands of industrial workers, employees and residents of nearby villages by providing free primary healthcare services closer to their workplaces and homes.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain, District Nodal Officer for Aam Aadmi Clinics Dr. Girish Dogra, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Amit Arora, local residents and other dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Anmol Gagan Mann said the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is focused on ensuring accessible, affordable and quality healthcare for every citizen. She said the expansion of the Aam Aadmi Clinic network has made essential medical services available at people’s doorsteps, reducing the need for patients to visit larger hospitals for routine treatment.
She expressed confidence that the newly established clinic would significantly benefit the industrial workforce and local population by improving access to timely medical care.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain said the clinic will provide free consultations by qualified doctors, essential medicines, diagnostic laboratory tests and treatment for a range of common ailments. Services will also include screening and management of lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, antenatal care for pregnant women and other primary healthcare facilities.
She urged residents to make full use of the free healthcare services being offered through the clinic.
Following the inauguration, the MLA inspected the facility and reviewed the availability of medicines, healthcare services and other infrastructure. She appreciated the efforts of the Health Department and congratulated the medical staff, expressing confidence that the state government would continue strengthening Punjab’s public healthcare system.
