Following a smooth, free, fair and transparent conduct of elections, as many as 44.6% voters have exercised their franchise during the elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti held amidst elaborate arrangements made by the district administration Jalandhar.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal stated that 43.93% votes were cast in Jalandhar East, 44.04% in Adampur, 46.13% in Bhogpur, 43.57 % in Jalandhar West, 52.69% in Lohian Khaas, 45.76% in Mehatpur, 48.84% in Nurmehal, 41.45% in Phillaur, 49.06% in Shahkot, 43.76% in Rurka Kalan and 45.86% in Nakodar.
The Deputy Commissioner also thanked the voters, poll and security staff, candidates and political parties for cooperation in organizing free, fair and peaceful elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti.
He further mentioned that the counting of votes will be held on December 17, 2025 at 8am, and results will be declared after counting was over.
