Punjab SC Commission Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi Resolves Dhuletta Land Dispute

Phillaur (Jalandhar), September 20, 2025 (Yes Punjab News)

With the intervention of Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi, the land dispute in village Dhuletta has been resolved.

Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi visited the village on Saturday to settle the dispute, where he first inspected the site. He then held discussions with the Panchayat of the village, the Gurudwara Management Committee Shri Guru Ravidass Ji, prominent individuals, and administrative officers to hear the viewpoints of all parties. He motivated all stakeholders to resolve the matter through mutual consensus, keeping in view the unity and harmony of the village.

Thanks to the efforts of Chairman, a unanimous decision was reached by the Panchayat, prominent individuals, and the Gurudwara Management Committee Shri Guru Ravidass Ji that the construction of the Shri Guru Ravidass Community Hall—which had recently become a matter of dispute—would now move forward. A resolution for the construction of the Community Hall was unanimously passed by the Gram Panchayat Dhuletta.

Alongside, considering the technical shortcomings in the proceedings register and resolutions of the Panchayat that had triggered the dispute, the Panchayat recommended immediate transfer of Panchayat Secretary to the concerned department.

Furthermore, for the permanent resolution of the land-related issue, a resolution was passed to record the land mutation in the khasra number.

Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi assured the community that the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes is committed to protecting lands of religious sites related to Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj across the state.

He asserted that if any encroachments or irregularities are reported, the Commission would not hesitate to take strict action. He added that the Punjab Government stands firmly with every section of society, ensuring due dignity and respect for all communities.

Present on the occasion were SDM Parleen Kaur Brar, DSP S.S. Ball, Deputy CEO Zila Parishad Sukhbir Kaur, Tehsildar Mandeep Singh, BDPO Jasjit Kaur, Sarpanch Sukhbir Singh Sukkhi, Panch Jasvir Ram Virdi, Dharampal Virdi, Manjit Kaur, and Secretary of Gurudwara Management Committee Shri Guru Ravidass Ji Bahadur Ram and Amarjit Kele.
