On the auspicious occasion of Ekadashi, the National Health Mission (NHM), Punjab and the Punjab State AIDS Control Society (PSACS) organized a Chabeel in front of their office at Sector 38-B, Chandigarh, to serve the public. The service-oriented initiative was inaugurated by Dr. Vishal Garg, Additional Project Director, Punjab State AIDS Control Society.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Vishal Garg said that sacred occasions like Ekadashi inspire people to serve humanity and work for the welfare of society. He added that serving people is one of the noblest deeds and that such initiatives help strengthen social harmony, brotherhood and community spirit.
Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Sunita Devi, Joint Director (BTS); Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Joint Director (CST); Ms. Pawan Rekha Beri, Joint Director (IEC); Mr. Saurabh Gupta, ACFA, NHM Punjab; Ms. Deep Shikha, Manager (HR); Mr. Shivinder Singh Sahdev, Programme Officer (IEC/BCC); Ms. Sonia Thathai, Manager (NUHM); Ms. Monica Babbar, Consultant (Community Participation); Mr. Yogesh, Consultant (Policy and Planning); along with other officials.
Special arrangements were made for serving Halwa-Chole, Jal Jeera and sweetened water to devotees and visitors. A large number of people participated in the langar and appreciated the service initiative. The officers and staff members served the public with dedication and devotion and received their blessings.
During the Chabeel, a large number of devotees were served sweetened cold water. The initiative was widely appreciated by the public for its spirit of selfless service. On this occasion, all officers and employees reaffirmed their commitment towards public service and the welfare of society.
