Television actor Amar Upadhyay celebrated his 50th birthday on Saturday with touching messages from his children, who paid tribute to him on social media by describing him as their mentor, teacher, friend and greatest source of inspiration.
His son, Aryaman, shared a series of photographs with his father on Instagram and expressed gratitude for the values Amar had instilled in him over the years. Calling him his mentor, friend, teacher and world, Aryaman said everything he has achieved and hopes to accomplish in the future has been shaped by his father’s guidance.
He added that by observing his father, he had learnt three of life’s most important lessons — humility, hard work and discipline — and said he was proud to be Amar’s son.
Earlier this year, Amar had praised Aryaman’s stage performance and encouraged him to remain focused and continue working hard. Aryaman is reportedly preparing for his acting debut.
Amar’s daughter, Chenab, also marked the occasion by posting childhood photographs with her father and wished him a happy birthday with a simple message expressing her love. Responding to the post, the actor affectionately thanked her.
Amar Upadhyay remains one of Indian television’s most recognised faces, best known for portraying Mihir Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Over the years, he has featured in several popular television dramas, including Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kkusum, Molkki and Doree, besides appearing in films such as LOC Kargil, 13B, Kaagaz and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
The actor was recently seen reprising his iconic role as Mihir Virani opposite Smriti Irani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, the sequel and reboot of the landmark television series.
