Actress Anushka Ranjan, who recently welcomed twin daughters with her husband Aditya Seal, has opened up about her pregnancy and IVF journey, saying the experience made her realise how differently pregnancy can unfold for different women.
Anushka shared her thoughts during an appearance on actress Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, All About Her, where she discussed fertility, IVF and motherhood alongside Dr Nandita Paletta, a gynaecologist and founder and medical director of Bloom IVF Group.
Asked by Soha about her pregnancy experience, Anushka said she gradually understood that pregnancy is deeply personal and that comparing one woman’s experience with another can be misleading.
“I realised that it is my personal journey,” she said, recalling how she would frequently consult doctors about what activities she could undertake during pregnancy while her friend, actress Karishma Tanna, who was pregnant around the same time, maintained a much more active routine.
Anushka said she initially found herself comparing the two experiences and watching videos about other women’s pregnancies.
“But I feel like that’s a very bad comparison to make because my journey is different, my lifestyle is different from my friend, my genes are different, but somehow hers was easier, somehow mine was more cautious,” she said.
The actress said the experience broadened her understanding of how individual factors can influence pregnancy, reinforcing the need to view each woman’s journey on its own terms.
