Upasana Singh Accuses Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure of Using CINTAA for Publicity

Mumbai, August 28, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Former Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) General Secretary Upasana Singh has accused the organisation’s current leadership, including Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure, of allegedly using the association’s platforms and resources for publicity.

Singh claimed that photographs taken during important events and meetings with government representatives were selectively used, with images of other Executive Committee (EC) members allegedly cropped to give prominence to Dhillon and Kolhapure.

“We used to go only to meet the ministers. If you look at our phones, I can show you so many photographs of meeting the ministers, which we also used to go. But whose photographs were printed? Photographs were printed only of Poonam and Padmini,” Singh alleged.

She further claimed that photographs of other actors, including EC member Dilbagh Singh, were cropped, alleging that CINTAA was being used primarily for personal publicity.

Singh also alleged that CINTAA funds were used for press conferences where Dhillon and Kolhapure were given greater prominence.

“There were different press conferences, in which CINTAA’s money was used. And only she was given more preference,” she alleged.

Referring to a press conference related to the Raj Kapoor Night event, Singh claimed that other EC members were not invited and that only Dhillon and Kolhapure attended.

She also cited a press conference connected with veteran actress Hema Malini’s show, alleging that EC members were assigned a later time slot despite the event having started hours earlier.

“EC members were given time at 3.30 pm. And the press conference started at 12.30 PM. When Deepak Parashar knocked when he reached the venue, nobody even opened the door,” Singh alleged.

The accusations come amid an ongoing dispute within CINTAA, which intensified after 11 members of its Executive Committee resigned earlier this month. Eight of them were elected members — Hemant Pandey, Mukesh Rishi, Sahila Chadha, Hetal Parmar, Puneet Issar, Vindu Dara Singh, Vikas Verma and Deepak Parashar.

The resignations were accompanied by allegations of unfair decision-making and misuse of positions.

CINTAA’s leadership has rejected the allegations. At a press conference on August 24, Dhillon and Kolhapure presented their side of the dispute.

Dhillon termed Singh’s allegations baseless and false, maintaining that CINTAA’s funds were properly accounted for and that no money was used for personal gain.

Kolhapure also rejected the allegations and said funds raised by the association were handled responsibly and used for their intended beneficiaries.
