‘Declassified: Operation Sindoor’ Docu-Series to Chronicle India’s 88-Hour Counter-Terror Operation

Mumbai, July 31, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced Declassified: Operation Sindoor, a documentary series that will offer an inside account of India’s 88-hour military operation carried out in response to the Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year.

The first look of the series was unveiled on Friday. According to the makers, the documentary brings together senior military officials, defence experts, ground operatives and journalists to recount the planning, execution and strategic decisions behind Operation Sindoor.

The operation involved pre-dawn strikes on nine alleged terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of Defence had earlier stated that the strikes targeted terrorist infrastructure and were conducted as a measured, non-escalatory response to the terror attack in Pahalgam, in which 25 Indian civilians and one Nepali national were killed. Reports had indicated that surface-to-surface missiles were used during the operation.

The documentary also examines the developments that followed the strikes, including heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan, allegations of misinformation campaigns, and the eventual announcement of a ceasefire.

The series features interviews with several senior military leaders, including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh, Director General Military Operations Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, and Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma.

According to the producers, the documentary traces India’s response from initial strategic deliberations through military planning and execution, while presenting first-hand accounts from those involved in the operation.

Sai Abishek, Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids – South Asia at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the documentary also marks the launch of the company’s new ‘Declassified’ franchise, which aims to explore significant historical events through first-hand perspectives. He said the production team approached the project with “rigour, sensitivity and authenticity” after being granted unprecedented access.

Declassified: Operation Sindoor will premiere on Discovery and discovery+ on August 15, 2026.
