Dr Madhu Chopra, mother of actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, remembered her late husband, Dr Ashok Chopra, on his birth anniversary on Sunday with a nostalgic social media post featuring cherished family memories.
Taking to Instagram, Dr Madhu Chopra shared a video montage featuring moments with her husband and their children, Priyanka and Siddharth.
Alongside the post, she wrote, “Heavenly birthday to my husband, my love, and the piece of my heart that I carry with me every day. I wish I could celebrate you here, but I hope you know how deeply you are loved, missed, and remembered.”
Dr Ashok Chopra, a physician and surgeon who served in the Indian Army Medical Corps and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, died in Mumbai on June 10, 2013, at the age of 62 after battling cancer.
Priyanka has frequently remembered her father on social media, describing him as her “greatest cheerleader”. She also has a “Daddy’s lil girl” tattoo on her wrist as a tribute to him.
More recently, Priyanka shared a photograph of her four-year-old daughter Malti Marie standing with folded hands in front of a photograph of Dr Ashok Chopra. Malti was born after her grandfather’s death and therefore never met him.
On the professional front, Priyanka is set to star in S.S. Rajamouli’s upcoming film Varanasi, alongside Telugu star Mahesh Babu.
Priyanka will reportedly play Mandakini, a historian who accompanies Mahesh Babu’s character Rudhra on a global mission involving the protection of Varanasi from an asteroid named Shambhavi.
