Chandigarh, August 23, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
The Punjab Government will organise an NRI Milni in Bathinda on August 26 to provide overseas Punjabis a platform to directly raise their grievances and seek timely resolution through interaction with senior civil and police officials.
Punjab NRI Affairs Minister Dr Ravjot Singh said the initiative reflects the Bhagwant Singh Mann government’s commitment to addressing issues faced by overseas Punjabis through direct dialogue and on-the-spot coordination with the concerned departments.
The Milni will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Hotel Sepal, G.T. Road, near Tinkoni, Bathinda. NRIs belonging to Bathinda, Moga, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Fazilka, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Mansa districts will be able to participate.
Dr Ravjot Singh said overseas Punjabis attending the event would be able to present their complaints, problems and suggestions before senior officials, who would work towards their possible resolution through coordination with the relevant departments.
He said the state government had earlier organised two NRI Milnis in SAS Nagar (Mohali) and Ludhiana, where grievances of overseas Punjabis from eight districts were taken up in detail.
The Minister said the government considers overseas Punjabis an integral part of the Punjabi family and is focusing on direct interaction, transparency and prompt action to resolve their concerns.
He added that efforts would be made to address property-related, family, administrative, legal and other grievances while further strengthening the bond between Punjabis living abroad and their homeland.
Dr Ravjot Singh urged overseas Punjabis from the seven districts to participate in the Bathinda NRI Milni and bring their issues before the concerned authorities so that necessary action could be expedited.
