The Bharatiya Janata Party is planning a month-long nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, with a particular focus on expanding the organisation’s outreach among young people and strengthening its preparations for Assembly elections due early next year, party sources said on Sunday.
BJP president Nitin Nabin held a strategy meeting with newly appointed national office-bearers, focusing on the formation of small teams to plan and coordinate activities under the ‘Modi @25’ initiative.
The party is also expected to appoint national general secretaries as zone-wise in-charges to supervise programmes around Modi’s birthday on September 17.
The Prime Minister’s birthday is observed by BJP workers as ‘Seva Divas’, with activities including social welfare initiatives, blood donation camps and cleanliness drives.
According to party sources, the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will give special attention to poll-bound states, alongside a publicity campaign highlighting the achievements and welfare measures of the Narendra Modi-led government over the past 12 years.
Nabin also reviewed the progress of ongoing organisational programmes and discussed measures to improve their implementation and expand their reach.
The campaign is part of the BJP’s wider strategy to strengthen its grassroots network, expand its membership and intensify public engagement ahead of Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur in early 2027.
Several senior leaders, newly appointed national office-bearers and state presidents attended Sunday’s meeting. Among those present were national general secretaries Smriti Irani, Vinod Tawde and Biplab Deb, Punjab BJP in-charge Satish Poonia, Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon, national vice-president Lal Singh Arya, national office-in-charge Tarun Chugh and national secretary Sandeep Pathak.
BJP national vice-presidents Vasundhara Raje and Tirath Singh Rawat, Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, BJYM president Hemang Joshi, and BJP Treasurer and Union Minister Piyush Goyal also participated in the discussions.
