Punjab Police conducted 584 raids across the state on Saturday as part of its ongoing ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign against gangster networks, arresting 341 individuals and recovering three weapons.
The campaign, launched by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, entered its 215th day on August 23. Police teams from districts across the state are conducting coordinated operations with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab against identified associates and networks linked to gangsters.
With the latest arrests, the total number of people arrested under the campaign has reached 63,758.
Police also initiated preventive action against 209 individuals and arrested four proclaimed offenders during Saturday’s operations.
Punjab Police has urged citizens to share information about wanted criminals, gangsters and other criminal activities through its Anti-Gangster Helpline at 93946-93946. The information can be provided anonymously.
Meanwhile, the state police continued its anti-drug campaign, ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, which entered its 540th day. Police arrested 87 alleged drug smugglers and recovered 871 grams of heroin, 53 kg of poppy husk, 1,543 intoxicant tablets and Rs 4,070 in drug money.
The cumulative number of drug smugglers arrested under the campaign has reached 76,388.
As part of its de-addiction efforts, Punjab Police also persuaded 13 individuals to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment on Saturday.
