Actor and ‘Bigg Boss 15’ runner-up Pratik Sehajpal has shared his views on modern relationships, saying he does not believe in the concept of situationships and does not consider such arrangements to be love.
Speaking to IANS about changing relationship dynamics, Pratik said he finds the idea of situationships difficult to relate to and believes people today have become more accepting of evolving relationship patterns.
“Honestly, when it comes to modern relationships, I can’t even say ‘situationships.’ I think these are very high-level things. There is no such love. This is not love. We can’t call them love. This is just a time pass,” he said.
Pratik added that while he does not judge people for choosing such relationships, he personally does not identify with them.
“People are okay with being with someone today and doing something else tomorrow. I am not saying it is wrong. Look, it is today’s generation. People are evolving. Whatever it is, be happy with it. It was like this in the beginning as well. There was group marriage, from which the concept of marriage eventually evolved again. I also don’t have a problem with it. But I am not like that. I don’t believe in all these things,” he said.
Talking about his new show ‘Dil Se Deewangi Tak’, Pratik said the series presents relationships differently. His character Shivaay is affectionate but emotionally conflicted as he tries to understand his feelings.
“Shivaay is loving, so he is going through this. He is a little emotionally confused, but it is not like that here either. If he has love, then you will see whom he loves. Even if he is emotionally confused, you will see in his eyes whom he loves,” he said.
Pratik also offered a broader definition of love, saying it is not limited to romantic relationships between two people.
“Love is not necessarily about having a girl in front of you and, if I am a boy, saying that I will love the girl. I can love this plant too. I can love you too. I love this camera a lot,” he said.
Pratik Sehajpal rose to prominence through reality shows including ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ and ‘Bigg Boss 15’, where he emerged as the runner-up.
