Punjab Police on Friday carried out 687 raids across the state as part of its ongoing ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign against gangster networks and their associates, with 368 people arrested during the operation.
The statewide action marked the 185th day of the campaign launched by Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, with the aim of making Punjab free from gangster-related activities.
Police teams from various districts, in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, conducted searches at identified locations linked to gangster associates as part of the special drive.
According to police, seven weapons were also recovered during the operation. With the latest arrests, the total number of people held since the launch of the campaign has reached 52,542.
Apart from arrests, preventive action was taken against 336 individuals, while six proclaimed offenders were also arrested during the operation.
Punjab Police has appealed to citizens to share information related to wanted criminals, gangsters and criminal activities through the Anti-Gangster Helpline number 93946-93946. The police said information can be provided anonymously.
