Senior Akali Dal “Waris Punjab De” leader and Mullanpur Dakha MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali on Monday said it was his sincere wish that Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra contest the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections from the Dakha constituency, describing it as a matter of pride and honour for the people of the region.
Ayali said Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra would only need to file her nomination papers, while the responsibility of ensuring her victory would be taken up by the people of Dakha and party workers.
Expressing confidence in the constituency’s electorate, he said the Sangat of Dakha has always stood firmly by Panthic causes and would fulfil this responsibility as well. He added that party workers and supporters would leave no stone unturned to ensure her electoral success.
Clarifying his own political position, Ayali said he had joined Akali Dal “Waris Punjab De” without placing any conditions before the party leadership. He said he neither sought an Assembly ticket nor aspired to any organisational post, maintaining that Panthic issues and the welfare of Punjab have always remained his foremost priorities.
Reiterating his commitment to Panthic unity, Ayali appealed to all Panthic organisations and leaders to rise above personal ambitions and political considerations for the larger interests of the Panth and Punjab.
He said he has consistently worked towards strengthening Panthic unity and would continue making every possible effort in that direction in the future.
