Moga, July 25, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday inaugurated the 120-bed Capital Hospital in Moga, describing it as the district’s first NABH-accredited multi-speciality hospital and a major addition to advanced healthcare facilities in the Malwa region.
The Chief Minister said the hospital would provide specialised treatment for serious illnesses closer to people’s homes, reducing the need for patients to travel to larger cities. Eligible beneficiaries will be able to avail cashless treatment under the Punjab Government’s Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna as well as the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY).
Equipped with a 10-bed round-the-clock emergency unit, advanced diagnostic laboratory, dialysis facility and modern medical equipment, the hospital offers services in general surgery, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, urology, gastroenterology and medical oncology. Facilities including ultrasound, digital X-ray, ECG, 2D Echo, treadmill testing, 128-slice CT scan, MRI and C-Arm imaging are also available, while paediatrics and obstetrics & gynaecology departments are expected to be added soon.
Addressing the gathering, Mann said healthcare and education remain the Punjab Government’s top priorities and reiterated its commitment to strengthening both sectors. He also highlighted improvements in government school education, claiming Punjab has emerged as the country’s top-performing state and citing a sharp increase in the number of government school students qualifying the NEET examination.
The Chief Minister said Punjab’s universal Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna provides cashless medical treatment of up to ₹10 lakh annually to every resident family and that beneficiaries have already availed treatment worth over ₹650 crore under the scheme. He also noted that with the launch of 100 new Aam Aadmi Clinics, the state now has 1,090 such healthcare facilities.
