Bhagwant Mann campaigns for AAP Candidate Dimpy Dhillon in Gidderbaha!

Chandigarh/Gidderbaha, Nov 5, 2024 (Yes Punjab News)

In a vigorous and impactful campaign for Dimpy Dhillon on Tuesday, CM Bhagwant Mann addressed four huge rallies in Gidderbaha. During his speech Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann attacked Manpreet Badal and Raja Warring who represented Gidderbaha for 29 years now, but did next to nothing for the people of this constituency.

Cabinet Minister Aman Arora was also present with the CM during his campaign. He said that politics should only be done on the basis of work and the AAP has done exceptional work for the people for two and half years.

He said that Gidderbaha has had famous MLAs but they didn’t work for the people or constituency, so now the people have an opportunity to elect an AAP candidate as their representative. Other AAP MLAs and cabinet ministers also joined Mann and Dimpy Dhillon today to do an election campaign in Gidderbaha.

Mann addressed people at Khidkianwala, Harike Kalan, Kotali Ablu and Bentabaad, Gidderbaha. He said that the people of Gidderbaha cannot be easily swayed, they are experienced and they know the leaders of the traditional parties who have betrayed them time and again.

CM Mann highlighted the long-standing political games of traditional parties, where they play ‘friendly matches’ and change political parties and constituencies for their personal agendas and gains.

Mann emphasized the power of the common people in the democracy saying that in 2022 the people defeated the stalwarts. Now the people of Gidderbaha too have an opportunity to elect a candidate who is their own and they can become part of the government too.

CM Mann said that the people of Gidderbaha, with their experience and wisdom, are well aware of the “use and throw” tactics of traditional political leaders who once only appeared during elections to “buy votes over the phone.” He pointed out that since the arrival of AAP, traditional political parties had to change their tactics too and their leaders had to come out of their luxurious houses to seek votes.

“Your gathering today is a testament that you are looking to write a new story for Gidderbaha. The election on November 20 is not just another voting day, it’s an opportunity to bring about lasting change,” said CM Mann.

He said that under the AAP government, fake political cases and fraudulent tactics have no place. “There are no political vendettas or fake cases. AAP stands for truth and justice,” he added.

He recalled his commitment to the ideals of freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh and his oath ceremony in Bhagat Singh’s village, reinforcing his connection to the roots of Punjab’s struggle for justice. He said that Manpreet Badal and he went to Khatkar Kalan in 2012 but since then Badal has changed two more parties but he (Mann) is still rooted there.

“People no longer even meet the leaders of Congress and BJP. They are scared of the people’s trust in AAP and the love people have for me,” Mann said, acknowledging the deep bond he shares with the public.

In a direct contrast to the traditional political class, CM Mann also drew attention to how previous leaders have blocked the growth of common people, referring to leaders like Manpreet Badal and Raja Warring who, he claimed, preferred to keep the masses divided rather than empower them. “They don’t let anyone grow. They don’t want progress for the common man,” he said.

Asserting his government’s achievements, CM Mann laid out the successes of the AAP in Punjab, including providing 45,000 government jobs, providing free electricity to 90% of Punjab’s households since July 2022, and the purchase of a thermal plant and upgradation of schools, 800+ Aam Aadmi Clinics, one MLA one pension and providing enough and timely electricity for crops.

“While the previous leaders were born with silver spoons in their mouths, I am one of you. I’m not here for money. Politics is not a business for us; we are here to serve the people,” Mann stated firmly.

Mann said that he left a successful career as a comedian to serve the people because money is not everything, people are important, their issues are important. He also mentioned that AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejariwal left his position as an income tax commissioner to serve the people.

Mann urged the people of Gidderbaha to choose a leader who truly understands their struggles. “Elect your own, someone who lives among you, knows your issues, and is committed to solving them. This is not just about votes, it’s about a real connection with the people,” he said.

The CM also took a swipe at opposition parties, calling their election promises “lollipops” and reminding the crowd that AAP delivers results – not just empty words. From improved schools to mohalla clinics and free electricity, AAP is delivering what the people need. The AAP’s victory is not just about winning the election, but about continuing the journey of true progress for Punjab.

In his second rally at Harike Kalan, CM Bhagwant Mann expressed his deep appreciation for the love and support of the people, noting that the strength of Punjab lies in its people and fertile land. He said that the true power of democracy rests with the common people and that the AAP’s success is a result of the people’s trust.

Referring to the traditional political class, Mann compared them to “growing in a pot,” criticizing leaders like Raja Warring and Manpreet Badal for their lack of rootedness with the people. He firmly stated that these leaders, who hop between constituencies and parties, fail to truly understand or serve the public’s needs.

Mann also highlighted his government’s commitment to serving all people, regardless of their political affiliations. “I am the Chief Minister for everyone, even for those who did not vote for me,” he declared, saying that his mission is to ensure the welfare of all citizens.

In Kotli Ablu Mann discussed the symbolic power of AAP’s election symbol, the broom (jharoo), which he argued resonates particularly with women. “Mothers and sisters don’t need much explanation. They know exactly what is right for their families and their communities,” he said, further solidifying the AAP’s image as a party of change and progress.

CM Bhagwant Mann said that the leaders of the AAP belong to common families which give them a deep understanding of the struggles of ordinary people. He assured the crowd that he is committed to protecting their livelihoods and ensuring their progress.

He promised not to let anyone’s “chulha” (hearth) be extinguished, symbolizing his commitment to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Mann took a direct shot at the opposition leaders, specifically Raja Warring and Manpreet Badal, comparing them to “growing in pots” (symbolizing their detachment from the common people), and accused them of shifting political allegiances for their personal gain.

In his address at Bentabaad, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann promised the implementation of the Rs 1000 monthly financial aid for women soon.

He further attacked the Congress and BJP, stating that the current leaders’ exploitation was worse than that of the British colonial rulers. Mann said that leaders like Manpreet Badal don’t even speak the language of the Punjab’s people, how would they understand people and their issues.

He urged the people to vote for the AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, calling him a true representative of the people. “Dimpy is committed to your growth. Your demands, Dimpy’s letters and my signature, I promise you that they will be fulfilled,” CM Mann concluded.

You gave 16 years to Manpreet Badal, 13 years to Raja Warring, give me just 2 years, I’ll work more for you in 2 years than their 29 years: Dimpy Dhillon

Addressing the people at rallies, AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon launched a scathing attack on Congress and BJP. He particularly criticised Raja Warring and Manpreet Badal for getting elected multiple times from Gidderbaha and still doing nothing for the people. Dimpy Dhillon said that we all know what Congress and its leaders represent.

They ruined thousands of sikh families and attacked our Takht and Darbar Sahib. He said that voting for the BJP means undermining the farmers’ movement. Our farmers are still sitting at the borders of Delhi and struggling in the mandis because the BJP is only for the capitalists, not for our farmers and labourers.

Dhillon said, “you gave 16 years to Manpreet Singh Badal. Then you gave 13 years to Raja Warring. But they did nothing for you. They don’t even live in Gidderbaha to meet and know the issues of the people of Gidderbaha. They have abandoned you time and again Give me just two years. I’ll work more for you and Gidderbaha Constituency in two years than Badal and Warring did in 29 years.”

AAP MLA Devinder Singh Laddi Dhos criticised Raja Warring for his theatrics during election time, saying that after elections Raja Warring doesn’t go to the mandis to meet farmers, then he doesn’t play with the children of the common people. He said that these theatrics don’t work anymore. People are aware and they will vote on the basis of the work of the Mann government.
