Actor Teja Sajja, who will next be seen in the upcoming zombie action-comedy ‘Zombie Reddy Nxt Lvl’, says the franchise has given him the freedom to experiment and trust audiences with unconventional storytelling.
The sequel was announced on Sunday, coinciding with Teja’s birthday. The film follows the success of ‘Zombie Reddy’ and promises a bigger scale, heightened action and more elaborate zombie mayhem.
“For me, the most rewarding part of this journey has been the freedom to take chances and trust the audience to come along,” Teja said.
Recalling the first film, he said the way audiences embraced its world and his character gave the team confidence to expand the franchise.
“‘Zombie Reddy Nxt Lvl’ is that dream taken several steps further. The scale, the action and the world we have created are far more ambitious this time, and I’m excited to see how audiences respond to it,” he added.
Teja said returning to the franchise was a special birthday gift and that the team had raised the stakes while assembling an “incredible team” to create an entertaining new chapter.
The film also stars Real Star Upendra and marks actor Shanaya Kapoor’s South Indian cinema debut.
Directed by Suparn S. Varma, known for projects including ‘The Family Man 2’, ‘Rana Naidu’ and ‘Haq’, the film has been created by Prasanth Varma.
Varma said the sequel aims to explore the idea of zombies as representations of collective fears while delivering a chaotic and visually intense cinematic experience.
Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad, the screenplay has been written by Hussain Dalal, Prasanth Varma and Suparn S. Varma.
‘Zombie Reddy Nxt Lvl’ is set to release worldwide in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Nepali, Japanese and Malayalam.
