Actor Kareena Kapoor has responded to recent social media speculation about her alleged third pregnancy, using humour to suggest that her much-discussed “paunch” was simply the result of indulging in food.
Kareena addressed the rumours on Saturday through her Instagram Stories. She reshared a humorous post featuring a man posing with a bloated stomach and the caption, “Hat nah be”. The actor added laughing and pizza emojis to the post.
She also accompanied the Story with the song Chocolate Lime Juice from the 1994 film Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! — a playful reference to her fondness for food.
The speculation had gained traction after photographs of Kareena showing a visible stomach were circulated on social media. Her sister-in-law and Saif Ali Khan’s sister, Saba Pataudi, had earlier dismissed the pregnancy reports, attributing the appearance to an unflattering camera angle.
Saba wrote that people were making “another extreme” assumption based on a photograph and pointed out that Kareena had been seen looking “slick, classy and slim” after leaving an airport and had also been photographed coming out of a gym.
She also joked that she had been trying to convince Kareena to have a second child, adding that she would “kill me for saying it” if the remark were taken seriously. Saba urged people to respect the family’s privacy and avoid speculation.
This is not the first time pregnancy rumours surrounding Kareena have surfaced. Similar speculation arose during her vacation in New York after one of her Instagram Stories was interpreted as suggesting that she was expecting her third child with Saif Ali Khan. Kareena subsequently clarified the matter, saying it was simply “pizza and wine”.
On the professional front, Kareena is set to appear next in Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra, in which she will share screen space with Prithviraj Sukumaran.
