Patna, August 22, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
A Patna resident has approached the Cyber Cell alleging that he was cheated of more than Rs 1.19 crore in an online trading scam after being promised substantial returns on investments through trading platforms.
The complainant, Abdul Ejaz Azhar Jameel, a resident of Jagdev Path in Patna, has sought registration of an FIR, a detailed investigation and immediate steps to recover the allegedly defrauded money. His online complaint carries acknowledgement number 3050826010xxx.
According to the complaint, Jameel came across advertisements and references on Facebook concerning Julius Baer Wealth Advisors (India) Pvt. Ltd. and Finsol Securities Ltd. He was subsequently contacted by individuals through WhatsApp, who allegedly persuaded him to download trading applications, including one called “JB X One”, and invest money.
Jameel said he was initially allowed to withdraw a small portion of his investment. This, according to his complaint, increased his confidence in the platform, following which he invested a substantially larger amount.
The complaint states that Rs 79,56,451 was transferred to various bank accounts allegedly associated with Julius Baer, while another Rs 39,96,593 was transferred to accounts allegedly linked to Finsol. The total amount transferred was Rs 1,19,53,044.
Jameel alleged that the trading application subsequently showed substantial profits on his investments. However, when he attempted to withdraw the purported earnings, he was allegedly told that he first had to pay 20 per cent of the claimed profit.
The demand raised his suspicion that he had been targeted in a cyber fraud, following which he approached the Cyber Cell.
The complainant has provided investigators with mobile numbers of several people who allegedly contacted him. These include individuals identified as Kunal and Sonal, who allegedly claimed to represent Julius Baer, and Gul and Ananya, who allegedly claimed to be associated with Finsol.
Jameel has requested the Cyber Cell to examine the KYC records, bank transactions, IP addresses and other digital evidence linked to the alleged beneficiaries. He has also sought immediate freezing of funds available in the beneficiary accounts and steps to trace and recover the allegedly defrauded amount.
The allegations are subject to police investigation and verification.
