The farmers’ organizations of Punjab have announced to throw open and make Ladowal Toll Plaza, situated on the National Highway near Ludhiana free for people again.
The farmers’ organizations previously held a protest and kept the toll plaza ‘free’ for the people, today said that if the rise in toll fee for the most expensive toll plaza in the state is withdrawn by August 18, they will be compelled to re-launch their protest and make the toll plaza free for people passing through it.
It may be recalled that after the decision to increase the toll fee at this plaza, the farmers’ organizations launched a protest and made this toll plaza ‘free’ for the people from June 16.
This continued till July 31 when Police took protesting farmers into preventive custody and restored the operation of the toll plaza. However, the organizations have again announced the closure of the toll plaza from coming Sunday.
