Actor Suniel Shetty has praised the strong ties between India and the United Arab Emirates, expressing pride in the Indian diaspora and the growing cooperation between the two countries.
The Dhadkan and Hera Pheri actor shared pictures and videos from a recent event on Instagram, describing the gathering as a celebration of India, its people and the bond shared with the UAE.
“What a wonderful evening of celebrating India, our people and the beautiful bond we share with the UAE,” Shetty wrote.
He also lauded the Indian community in the UAE and the collaborative efforts between the two countries.
“Proud, proud, proud of our Indian diaspora and the incredible work being done together with the UAE,” he added, while tagging UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.
The event was organised by the Indian People’s Forum (IPF), one of the major community associations representing Indians living in the UAE. Attendees collectively recited a pledge of allegiance to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with Shetty joining them in taking both pledges.
Addressing the gathering, the actor described the UAE, particularly Dubai, as “an extension of our very own India”. He also praised the UAE and the Indian community for their resilience in dealing with challenges and crises.
Shetty has frequently spoken about his pride in Indian culture and the global Indian community.
On the work front, Shetty was last seen in the action-comedy Welcome to the Jungle, featuring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Aftab Shivdasani and Jackie Shroff.
