The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered 1,091 cases and arrested 1,138 accused between March 16, 2022, and July 31, 2026, as part of the state government’s stated zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
According to an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau, the department also registered 298 vigilance enquiries during the period, while competent courts convicted 242 accused in 150 corruption cases.
Of the total arrests, 630 accused were arrested in 523 trap cases, while 492 accused were arrested in 536 criminal cases. Another 16 persons were arrested in 32 cases related to disproportionate assets.
The Bureau also registered 117 vigilance enquiries concerning disproportionate assets during the period. In addition, 181 other vigilance enquiries were registered.
The figures cover the period from March 16, 2022, to July 31, 2026, and reflect the action taken by the Vigilance Bureau against alleged corruption and related offences.
