The Bihar Home Department’s Police Branch on Tuesday ordered a fresh reshuffle in the state police department, transferring and posting 11 Bihar Police Service (BPS) officers across several key units, including the Special Branch, CID, Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) and Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau.
According to the notification issued on August 18, the postings take effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.
Md. Shibli Nomani, who was serving as ASP in the Special Branch, Patna, has been appointed SP (B) in the same branch. Mukul Kumar Ranjan, formerly SDPO-1 (Sadar), Khagaria, has been transferred to Bihar Police Headquarters in Patna as SP (Law and Order).
Upendra Kumar Yadav, ASP, Special Armed Police-1, Patna, has been posted as SP (Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau), Patna.
Chandra Bhushan, formerly DSP in the Special Vigilance Unit, has been appointed Senior DSP (Special Crimes), CID, Patna. Sudhir Kumar has been posted as Senior DSP (Law and Order Branch), Bihar Police Headquarters, Patna.
The Special Vigilance Unit will also receive DSP Zakir Hussain and DSP Rajan Prasad Singh, both transferred from the Economic Offences Unit. Arun Kumar Akela, formerly DSP (Rail), Katihar, has also been posted as DSP in the SVU, Patna.
Sanjeev Kumar, who was serving as DSP with the Bihar STF, Patna, has been transferred to the Economic Offences Unit, Patna, as DSP.
The order was issued by Ratnesh Kumar, Under Secretary to the Government of Bihar, and has been made effective immediately. A copy has also been sent to the e-Gazette Cell for publication in the next issue of the Bihar Gazette.
The reshuffle came on the same day that the Bihar Police transferred 18 IPS officers holding the ranks of DIG, SSP and SP.
