Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Wednesday held separate meetings with representatives of various employee unions and assured them of the state government’s commitment to addressing their legitimate service-related demands at the earliest.
Cheema, who heads the Cabinet Sub-Committee constituted to examine employee grievances, heard the concerns raised by different employee organisations during the meetings. The union representatives submitted memorandums seeking action on issues including regularisation of services, salary and allowance revisions, job security and departmental integration.
The Finance Minister listened to the demands and discussed the issues with the delegations in a cordial atmosphere.
“The Bhagwant Mann-led government is committed to employee welfare and all your legitimate demands will be fulfilled soon,” Cheema assured the representatives.
The meetings were attended by delegations from the All Diploma Degree Apprenticeship Association, Water Supply and Sanitation Social Employees Union, All Punjab DST (Dual System of Training)/CTS (Craftsmen Training Scheme) Contract Instructor Union (ITIs), MGNREGA Karamchari Union Punjab and Punjab AIDS Control Employees Welfare Association.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee will examine the issues raised by the employee organisations as part of the government’s ongoing process to address service-related grievances.
