Rajasthan Govt School Shifted Within 24 Hours After CJP-Villagers Clash in Jaipur

Jaipur, August 22, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

A government school in Jaipur’s Rampura village was shifted to a building barely 50 metres away within 24 hours of a confrontation between Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) workers and villagers over the condition of the school, amid allegations of assault, intimidation and a breakdown of law and order.

The school was relocated to a house in the village on Saturday morning following Friday’s clash. More than 16 children and two teachers were present at the new premises.

The room being used for classes had previously functioned as a grocery shop. During an inspection, some students were found studying outside in the sun. A blackboard had been placed outside one of the rooms, which also contained a storage chest and other belongings. Students said the ceiling fan inside the classroom was not functioning, adding to the discomfort in the heat.

The dispute followed an inspection of the school by CJP workers. Party founder and convenor Abhijeet Dipke had warned that he would stage a protest in Jaipur within 48 hours if measures were not taken to improve the school’s condition.

Meanwhile, both CJP workers and villagers approached Shivdaspura police station on Saturday with complaints against each other, alleging assault and disorder. Both sides also alleged that police personnel were exerting pressure on them.

CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka alleged that party workers were assaulted during Friday’s incident and that their clothes were torn. He demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible and alleged that outsiders had been brought into the village for a “pre-planned attack”. He further claimed that some of those involved were later seen with local BJP MLA Kailash Verma.

Ranka alleged that stones were used during the confrontation with an intention to cause serious injury and claimed police were not present despite repeated calls. He said the CJP had released videos of the incident and demanded an impartial Rajasthan Police probe.

He also alleged that Pratap Nagar police were intimidating him and questioning party workers about him and his family.

In their complaint, villagers alleged that the CJP had disturbed peace in Rampura by bringing a large number of people, some allegedly carrying weapons, creating fear among residents and students. They denied the allegations levelled by CJP workers and sought action over what they described as intimidation and disorder.

The villagers said they wanted the government to reconstruct the school building at the earliest so that regular classes could resume within the village.

Ranka said the CJP would continue its ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign and claimed that the condition of Rajasthan’s government schools could embarrass Education Minister Madan Dilawar. He said he would continue visiting schools and indicated that the campaign could also include a demand for the minister’s resignation.

Dilawar, meanwhile, said on social media that the government was continuously working to strengthen government schools through infrastructure development, construction and repairs, smart classrooms, laboratories and other essential facilities.

The allegations by both sides have not been independently established. Police complaints have been filed by both parties, and the investigation is expected to establish the sequence of events and responsibility for Friday’s confrontation.
