Mayank Foundation has been honoured for its sustained efforts to promote voluntary blood donation and organise regular blood donation camps in Ferozepur and surrounding areas.
The recognition was presented by Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh at a state-level NGO conference and award function organised by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Punjab, in Chandigarh.
Foundation Vice President Rajiv Setia and Deepak Mathpal received the honour on behalf of the organisation. They also participated in technical sessions focused on strengthening the voluntary blood donation movement.
The sessions covered government-NGO partnerships, best practices for conducting quality blood donation camps, donor motivation and retention, and ways to increase youth participation in voluntary blood donation.
Foundation Secretary Rakesh Kumar described the recognition as a proud moment for the organisation and credited its volunteers, donors, members and supporters for the sustained efforts behind its work.
Founder Deepak Sharma said the foundation, under the presidentship of Dr Anirudh Gupta, has been working for the past eight years to promote voluntary blood donation in Ferozepur and neighbouring areas.
He said the foundation regularly organises blood donation camps in collaboration with hospitals, blood banks, educational institutions and social organisations. Its initiatives also focus on involving young people and creating awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation.
Foundation members expressed gratitude to the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Punjab, Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh, blood banks, medical teams, donors, volunteers and partner organisations for their continued support.
