Rapper Paradox, who is currently mentoring aspiring artists on the hip-hop reality show MTV Hustle 5, says his journey in the music industry has taught him to view the craft from multiple perspectives.
Reflecting on his transition from a contestant to a mentor on the show, Paradox told IANS that every stage of life brings new experiences and opportunities to evolve.
“So, I have learnt a lot of new things. I feel that in any phase of life, wherever you go, you learn new things and you evolve by time. So, now our focus is in this industry, is music,” he said.
The rapper added that music has evolved into more than just an artistic pursuit, encompassing business, creativity and personal expression.
“And music as a business, an art or just an expression, we have learnt a lot of new things. And we are trying to give our best in all aspects,” Paradox said.
The latest season of MTV Hustle carries the theme “Apna Homeground”, with rapper Badshah serving as the Rap Supremo. EPR, MC Square, Paradox and Agsy have joined him as squad bosses.
The show brings together aspiring rappers from across the country, giving them a platform to compete for recognition as India’s leading hip-hop talent.
The first season premiered in 2019 and was judged by Raftaar, Nucleya and Raja Kumari, with Gaelyn Mendonca as host. The second season premiered in 2022, featuring Badshah as judge alongside squad bosses EPR Iyer, Dino James, Dee MC and King Rocco.
The third season aired in 2023, with Badshah returning as judge alongside EPR Iyer, Dino James, Dee MC and Ikka. The fourth season premiered in 2024, with Raftaar and Ikka as judges and EPR Iyer, Dino James, Dee MC and Raga as squad bosses.
