Jana Sena Party Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh on Friday said his son Lingamaneni Sanjush is fully cooperating with the police investigation into the August 16 road accident in Hyderabad that claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman.
Ramesh expressed condolences to the victim’s family and said he would extend every possible support to them. He also appealed to people not to speculate or prejudge the case, saying the complete facts should emerge through the ongoing investigation.
“It is deeply unfortunate and heartbreaking that the road accident which occurred in Hyderabad on August 16, 2026, led to the loss of a young woman. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family. No words can lessen their grief. We will extend every possible support to the bereaved family,” he said.
According to Ramesh, Sanjush was driving the vehicle involved in the accident and immediately took the injured woman to a hospital. He subsequently approached the police and provided the details required by the authorities.
Ramesh said three separate medical tests conducted on his son returned negative results and maintained that the family had not attempted to conceal any aspect of the case or evade the legal process.
“We have the utmost respect for the law, and my son has complied with every procedure required by the authorities,” he said.
Madhapur police have booked Sanjush in connection with the accident under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, alleging rash and negligent driving. Police have said preliminary alcohol and drug tests were negative, while the investigation, including examination of the vehicle, is continuing.
Ramesh said he would extend full cooperation to the Police Department and expressed confidence that the truth would emerge through a fair and impartial legal process.
“I humbly request everyone to respect the grief of the bereaved family and refrain from spreading false or unverified information and allow the law to take its course,” he added.
