Actor Nivetha Pethuraj has shared an emotional reflection on her deep spiritual connection with Kashi, saying each visit to the sacred city leaves her with more questions than answers and strengthens her faith.
Posting a video from Varanasi on Instagram, the actress described her experiences at the Manikarnika Ghat and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, calling Kashi a place where her conversations with the Divine continue even after she leaves.
“Every time I sit by the Manikarnika Ghat and watch Maa Ganga flow, I leave with more questions than answers. She has witnessed centuries pass, yet she keeps flowing. Never clinging, never resisting. Is that what she’s trying to teach me?” she wrote.
Nivetha also recalled offering Gangajal at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, performing the Rudri Path Pooja on Mahashivratri and witnessing the Kala Bhairava Nishita Kaal Puja.
Reflecting on her repeated visits, she wrote, “Sometimes I wonder… why does Kashi keep calling me? What are You trying to teach me, Mahadev? Perhaps some places aren’t just destinations. They’re conversations with the Divine that continue long after you’ve left.”
The actress was recently appreciated for her performance in veteran filmmaker Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s Telugu film Sing Geetham.
Last month, Nivetha had revealed that she had considered quitting the film industry in 2023 before being persuaded to continue. Speaking at a thanksgiving event for Sing Geetham, she credited producer Nag Ashwin with bringing her back to cinema, saying she had contemplated choosing a different path in life.
