Music composer Daboo Malik has shared a heartfelt message on the importance of nurturing genuine relationships, cautioning against bonds that are sustained only by emotional, financial or personal benefits.
In a post on Instagram, Daboo reflected on the nature of friendships and relationships, urging people to recognise when connections become transactional rather than meaningful.
He said relationships that survive solely because one person continues to provide emotional support, constant attention or financial assistance are unlikely to endure when loyalty, peace or true partnership are needed. According to him, relationships built on money instead of mutual respect and understanding eventually fall apart.
Daboo also advised people not to feel guilty about spending money to maintain relationships, stressing that affection should never be measured by financial contributions. Instead, he encouraged investing time and energy in people who offer peace, respect and genuine effort, and who value individuals for who they are rather than for what they can provide.
He concluded by urging followers to reflect on the relationships in their lives and evaluate whether they are based on mutual care or personal gain.
Earlier this year, Daboo Malik was in the news after clarifying reports that he had been replaced by Salman Khan in the 1989 film Maine Pyaar Kiya. Addressing the controversy, he said he was working on another project at the time. The issue surfaced after his son, music composer Amaal Mallik, claimed that Daboo had been replaced in the film.
