The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has invited applications from Sikh devotees wishing to join the annual pilgrimage to Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib and other historic Sikh shrines in Pakistan on the occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab in November 2026.
The SGPC has begun the visa application process and asked interested devotees to submit their passports by August 10, 2026.
Sharing the information, SGPC Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan said that, as in previous years, the SGPC would send a jatha of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan to participate in the Prakash Purab celebrations and pay obeisance at historic gurdwaras associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
He said devotees intending to undertake the pilgrimage should submit their passports to the SGPC’s Yatra Department at its headquarters along with a recommendation from their respective SGPC constituency member by the stipulated deadline.
Kahlwan also informed that applicants must attach a photocopy of either their Aadhaar Card or Voter Identity Card as proof of identity along with their passports.
Appealing to the Sikh Sangat, he urged devotees to complete the documentation process well in time to enable the SGPC to complete visa formalities without delay.
