Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, along with several senior party leaders, on Monday tore into the BJP over a viral video showing a person dressed as Hanuman Ji dancing in front of BJP National President Nitin Nabin’s convoy in Lucknow. Calling it an insult to the Hindu faith, the AAP Chief called out the BJP for disrespecting Bhagwan Ram and Hanuman Ji, and asserted that Nitin Nabin must apologise to the entire Hindu community.
Taking to X, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated, “The BJP has caused more damage to and insulted the Hindu faith than perhaps even foreign invaders did in 5,000 years of India’s history. No one has looted Hindus the way these people have. BJP leaders are a stain on the Hindu faith. Nitin Nabin, what are you doing? Aren’t you ashamed? You must apologise to the entire Hindu community.”
Sharing a video of BJP National President Nitin Nabin offering prayers to Bhagwan Hanuman alongside another video showing a person dressed as Bhagwan Hanuman dancing in front of his convoy while carrying a BJP flag, Arvind Kejriwal stated, “These two visuals represent two completely different ideologies towards the Hindu faith. Our ideology is that we are devotees of Bhagwan Ram and Hanuman Ji. We have faith in them, we worship them, bow before them and seek their blessings. Their ideology is that they do not even regard Prabhu Shri Ram and Bhagwan Hanuman Ji as Bhagwan. For them, Ram and Hanuman are merely instruments to gain power and money. They have no hesitation in insulting Bhagwan.”

Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “What kind of mockery is this? BJP leaders are making Bhagwan Bajrang Bali dance in their procession while carrying the BJP flag. At this rate, the BJP will abolish the ‘Hindu Dharm’ (faith) and impose the ‘BJP Dharm’. They will declare their own leaders as Bhagwan, build Mandirs for them and make the people of this country worship them.”
Lakhs of Hindus have been hurt by the insult to Hanuman Ji: Saurabh Bharadwaj
Sharing the same video, AAP Delhi Unit President Saurabh Bharadwaj said to Nitin Nabin: “Like lakhs of Hindus, my religious sentiments have also been deeply hurt. This is a direct insult to my Hindu faith and to my revered Bhagwan Hanuman Ji. I request you to apologise for this act. Please visit a Hanuman Mandir and seek forgiveness. It will not make you any smaller. I also urge the BJP, as a party, to apologise for this act.”

Reposting the same video, senior AAP leader and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly Atishi said, “The BJP leaders who have been complaining since yesterday that Nitin Nabin was insulted, do they have the courage to speak today about the insult to Bajrang Bali? Rekha Gupta and BJP National President Nitin Nabin consider themselves greater than Bhagwan Hanuman and make Bhagwan dance before them carrying the party flag. Will Chief Minister Rekha Gupta comment on Nitin Nabin’s arrogance, or has she been instructed to remain silent over the insult to Hanuman Ji?”
