BPSC TRE-3 Paper Leak: Bihar Doctor Arrested, Total Arrests Reach 296

Patna, July 28, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

The Bihar Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has arrested an MBBS doctor in connection with the alleged Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-3) paper leak case, taking the total number of arrests in the investigation to 296.

According to an official statement issued by the EOU on Tuesday, Dr. Manish Kumar was arrested on Monday based on evidence gathered during the investigation into Economic Offences Police Station Case No. 06/2024, registered on March 16, 2024.

Investigators alleged that Dr. Kumar was in contact with the paper leak syndicate allegedly headed by Sanjeev Mukhiya and played a role in the conspiracy to provide the examination question paper to candidates before the test.

The probe further revealed that he allegedly transported 30 candidates to Hazaribag in neighbouring Jharkhand in a reserved vehicle, where they were reportedly prepared using the leaked question paper ahead of the examination.

The case is being investigated under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Bihar Conduct of Examination Act, 1981.

The EOU said Dr. Kumar completed his MBBS from Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), Patna, in 2021. He later served as a government doctor in Bihar’s Kaimur district before resigning to prepare for postgraduate medical studies. At the time of his arrest, he was reportedly preparing for the postgraduate medical entrance examination.

With the latest arrest, the total number of accused apprehended in the TRE-3 paper leak case has risen to 296.

The Economic Offences Unit said its crackdown on examination paper leak syndicates and those allegedly involved in such illegal activities would continue. It added that the investigation is ongoing and further legal action will be taken against anyone found to be part of the alleged conspiracy.
