Ferozepur, July 28, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
The Ferozepur district administration on Tuesday carried out a demolition drive against unauthorised colonies in Satiyewala and Mallwal villages, removing illegal constructions and infrastructure developed without required approvals.
The action was taken following directions from Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr Amandeep Kaur. A joint team comprising the duty magistrate, police personnel and officials from the District Town Planner’s office carried out the operation and demolished roads, lanes, sewer lines, manholes and other structures constructed in the illegal colonies.
Dr Kaur urged residents to exercise caution while purchasing plots, houses, buildings or shops in unauthorised colonies, stating that such developments are not eligible for government-provided civic amenities and other official facilities.
She said the district administration would continue strict action against illegal colonies being developed without necessary permissions. She also warned that criminal cases would be registered against individuals involved in establishing such unauthorised developments.
The administration appealed to people to verify the legal status and approvals of any property before making investments to avoid financial losses and legal complications.
