Golf: Diksha Dagar Continues as India’s Top LET Player Despite Women’s Open Setback

London, August 4, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Indian golfer Diksha Dagar has maintained her status as the country’s highest-ranked player on the Ladies European Tour (LET) despite missing the cut at the AIG Women’s Open, continuing to lead the Indian contingent in the 2026 Race to Costa del Sol standings.

The two-time LET champion slipped from sixth to eighth position in the season-long Order of Merit after the final major of the year but remains among the leading performers on the circuit.

Diksha’s ranking reflects a consistent campaign, marked by multiple top-10 finishes and steady performances that have kept her in contention among the LET’s top players.

The left-hander will now shift focus to the London Championship at Centurion Club, where she will spearhead a five-member Indian contingent. With crucial Race to Costa del Sol points at stake, the tournament presents Diksha an opportunity to strengthen her position inside the top 10 and end the season on a high.

While her early exit at Royal Lytham & St Annes ended her run at the year’s final major, it has not diminished what has been an impressive season for the Indian golfer. Diksha has consistently featured among the leading names on the LET leaderboard and has further established herself as India’s premier player on the European circuit.

She will be joined in London by four other Indian golfers, each aiming to make progress in their respective LET campaigns.

Rookie Avani Prashanth has impressed during her first full season on the tour and currently occupies the 45th spot in the Race to Costa del Sol standings. The Bengaluru golfer has displayed considerable potential with a series of promising performances.

Pranavi Urs, another Hero-backed player, is placed 48th and will look to improve her ranking with a strong showing at Centurion Club after producing several competitive outings this season.

Five-time LET winner Aditi Ashok, India’s most successful golfer on the European circuit, is currently 58th. After a season of mixed results, Aditi will be hoping for a strong performance in London to regain momentum and climb higher in the standings.

Completing the Indian squad is Hitaashee Bakshi, who is competing in her maiden full LET season. Ranked 127th, she continues to gain experience while adapting to the challenges of regular competition at the highest level.

The Race to Costa del Sol remains tightly contested, with South Africa’s Casandra Alexander leading the standings after a series of strong performances. Singapore’s Shannon Tan, the defending champion, is also in the field and will aim to close the gap at the top.

With several events remaining in the 2026 LET calendar, every tournament carries significant importance in the battle for season-ending honours. The London Championship provides another opportunity for players to collect valuable points before the final phase of the campaign.

For Diksha, a strong outing at Centurion Club would help reaffirm her position as India’s leading LET player and strengthen her bid for a top finish in the season standings.
