Dimple Yadav Raises Ram Temple Donation Theft Issue

New Delhi, August 4, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav on Tuesday described the alleged theft of donations from the Ram Temple as a serious matter, saying the issue had hurt the sentiments of people across the country.

Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Yadav questioned the alleged theft of donations, precious metals and ornaments from the temple and sought answers on the matter.

“The issue is how much donation, how many metals, and how many ornaments were stolen from the Ram Temple. There were also allegations of land scams. The question is where the money went and who benefited from it. Nobody knows how many crores of rupees may have been involved in these land deals. This is indeed a very serious matter because it has, somewhere, played with the sentiments of the country,” she said.

The SP MP said her party would continue to raise the issue, asserting that the Ram Temple was connected with the emotions of people and represented the country’s heritage.

“We want whatever devotion and emotion with which people have given this money to be used in the right way,” she said.

Samajwadi Party MLA Shivpal Yadav also targeted the BJP government over the issue, alleging financial mismanagement. He claimed that the government had failed to properly utilise public funds and questioned the handling of temple donations.

“This government presents a flawed budget every year and is unable to utilise nearly 30 per cent of it. What kind of government is this? It allows theft of donations, temple offerings, and even fails to properly utilise public funds,” he said.

The issue triggered protests and disruptions in Parliament on Tuesday after Congress president and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge raised the alleged Ram Temple donation theft matter during Zero Hour.

NDA members protested against the remarks, accusing the Opposition of disrespecting Lord Ram, while Opposition MPs raised slogans over the issue involving the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan intervened and appealed to members to maintain parliamentary traditions, saying that while he would give the Leader of Opposition an opportunity to speak, members must also listen to the other side.

Meanwhile, Opposition MPs, including Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, staged a protest in the Parliament complex over the alleged donation theft issue and alleged police action against student protesters.

The protesting MPs gathered near the Makar Dwar carrying placards and raising slogans. They also placed donation boxes at the protest site to symbolically highlight their allegations regarding the temple donations.

The protest was attended by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Dimple Yadav, Dharmendra Yadav, Trinamool Congress MP Sagarika Ghose, RJD leaders Sanjay Yadav and Manoj Jha, RSP leader N.K. Premchandran and others.
