The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the YouTube channel Mohit Sir Gurukul for allegedly spreading false and misleading information regarding the results and selection process of the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination.
According to official sources, the action follows the circulation of a video on social media in which the channel allegedly claimed that large-scale irregularities and scams had occurred during the recruitment process.
Acting on the directions of the recruitment board, an FIR was registered at Husainganj Police Station in Lucknow.
Officials said the written examination for the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Direct Recruitment-2025 was conducted from June 8 to June 10, 2026. The cut-off list for document verification and the Physical Standard Test (PST) was released on July 31.
The complaint was filed by Inspector Upendra Singh on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.
In its complaint, the board described the contents of the viral video as “completely baseless, misleading and intended to create panic among candidates while spreading misinformation about the recruitment process.”
Based on the complaint, police have registered a case under Sections 221 and 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with Section 66D of the Information Technology Act.
Officials confirmed that further investigation into the matter is underway.
On July 31, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board had announced the results of the written examination conducted for the direct recruitment of Constable (Civil Police) and equivalent posts under the 2025 recruitment cycle.
