Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has revealed that he recently worked a continuous 24-hour shift for the upcoming season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), saying the importance of the assignment left him with no option but to complete the demanding schedule.
The 83-year-old actor shared the experience through his regular blog, stating that he worked from 7 a.m. on one day until 7 a.m. the next morning to ensure that the work was completed on time.
“Aaaahhhh… got hold of time in time… finished work at 7 am this morning… of work that began at 7 am yesterday… but the importance of its presentation and its timely work was necessary… so DID IT,” Bachchan wrote.
The veteran actor said he was relieved to return to his daily blogging routine after completing the assignment and planned to rest before another early call for work.
“The first Broadcast Date for KBC is announced… and missing that would mean a job replacement for me. So off to do what needs to be done,” he added.
The new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati is set to mark the 18th edition of the popular quiz-based reality show. Bachchan has been associated with the programme since its launch in 2000, except for the third season, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
Known for his professionalism, Bachchan has continued to maintain a rigorous work schedule despite his age and past health challenges. The actor has often spoken about his commitment to every project and his determination to continue working.
Bachchan survived a life-threatening accident on the sets of Coolie in 1982 and underwent several surgeries over the years. He has also previously revealed that he functions with a reduced liver capacity after contracting hepatitis following contaminated blood transfusions during his treatment.
August remains a significant month in the actor’s life as August 2 marks the day when he was revived by doctors after being declared clinically dead following the Coolie accident.
