Fazilka MLA Narinderpal Singh Sawna along with his wife Khushbu Sawansukha Sawna met Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi on Wednesday and discussed development initiatives for the Fazilka Assembly constituency and political matters related to the region.
During the meeting, Sawna apprised Kejriwal about various development issues concerning Fazilka and said that significant development work had started in the constituency after the formation of the AAP government in Punjab.
The MLA said that discussions were also held on strengthening the party organisation in Fazilka district and further expanding its reach among people.
Sawna said Kejriwal emphasised the need to work with greater dedication to ensure that the policies, welfare schemes and public facilities launched by the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government reach every household.
He said the focus would remain on ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of the benefits of government initiatives.
Meanwhile, Khushbu Sawansukha Sawna also raised the issue of regularisation of kacchi (unregularised) land holdings of farmers living in the border belt areas of Punjab.
She discussed the concerns of border-area farmers with Kejriwal and highlighted the need for steps to provide relief to those affected by the issue.
